Each charter school in North Carolina is open to accept any student who currently lives within the state. According to NC Law, applicants must live in North Carolina at the time of application. Real estate purchase agreements are not accepted as proof of residency for North Carolina residency status. However, active military personnel that can provide forthcoming transfer paperwork to NC are eligible to apply. PSPA is a public school that does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, creed, or gender.
Yes, you must apply every school year for the specific grade that your student will be in.
A lottery will be conducted in February 2025.
To apply to kindergarten, students must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2025.
No, Pine Springs Prep is a tuition-free public charter school. We receive federal, state, and local money for our students just like any other public school in this state.
5 Business Days (to accept your seat and turn in your paperwork), and that’s a hard cut-off as we have to move on to other families. If we do not hear from you, your child’s seat will be forfeited.
No. With the exception of immunization records and health assessments, student seats will not be confirmed unless all of the required documents are attached in the necessary time frame. Health assessments and immunization records need to be current and turned in before the start of school in August. If your child has never attended a NC public school (homeschooled, private school, or moving from another state) they will be required to turn in a health assessment prior to the start of school.
No, the only children that have priority are children and grandchildren of full-time staff, board member children, and siblings of currently enrolled PSPA students.
