Enrollment Information

The 2023-2024 enrollment period for the sibling and public lottery opened on January 3, 2023 and ran through January 31, 2023 at 11:59 PM.  All applications that were received after January 31st, 11:59PM were time-stamped and added, in the order they were received. A lottery was conducted  on Feb. 24th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., and students were seated for the 2023-2024 School Term. At this time, you may still enroll your child, but they will be entered onto the waitlist for the 2023-2024 School Term.

In order to apply to Pine Springs Preparatory Academy, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of the state of North Carolina at the time of application.
  • Kindergarten students must be five years old by August 31st of the year they apply

 

Please do not apply if your child does not meet the criteria above. Your application will be removed.at

Existing PSPA Families (Sibling) Enrollment

Siblings of currently enrolled students receive preference in the lottery for the following year. As defined by NC charter law includes half siblings, step siblings, and children residing in a family foster care home.  If there are more siblings than spaces open in the school, all siblings in that specific grade will go into the lottery but all will be placed with sibling priority so that they all priority number in the lottery over the general public.  

New Families Who Wish to Apply for PSPA (General Enrollment)

Open Enrollment is designed to give all interested parents equal opportunity for their child to attend Pine Springs Preparatory Academy. During open enrollment, all applications get equal consideration regardless of date submitted.

Applications Received After the Public Lottery

If you apply to PSPA after January 31, 2023, your student’s application will be time-stamped and added to the waitlist in the order that you applied.  There is no lottery for applications received after the January 31 deadline.
