Core Knowledge History & Geography

Social Studies at Pine Springs is a student centered skills driven curriculum led by a dynamic and innovative group of dedicated teachers. We use Core Knowledge as a base curriculum which we enhance with a focus on authentic experiences and work with primary source documents. We focus on preparing students for future success by filling them with the confidence and the skills they need to be successful in their future academic careers. Project based learning is a focus throughout all grades with numerous amazing projects that showcases what the students have learned. This all culminates with the 8th graders competing in National History Day which gives them the opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned at Pine Springs. We also offer numerous field trips to historical sites to give our students the full experience and an opportunity to see first hand where historical events took place.
