Sarah Konkus

Hello PSPA students and parents! I am Sarah Konkus, the middle school art teacher here at Pine Springs. I was born in North Carolina and grew up in Northern Virginia. As a student I enjoyed photography, art, and playing volleyball. I attended the BFA Art Education program at VCUArts in Richmond, VA. One of my favorite experiences was working for Virginia’s Youth Conservation Corps as a crew leader overseeing students ages 13-17 doing trail and conservation projects for Virginia State Parks. In 2020, I moved to Wake County, and started working for PSPA in August 2021. I seek to encourage students to develop their critical thinking skills and their own ideas about art. My goal for students is to encourage creativity and inspiration – even if you may not consider yourself an artist. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting outside to hike, and watching movies.
